NetWare Server Driver HSM v3.24
This beta driver release includes new and enhanced software to support the ZNYX
adapters in NetWare 4.11 SP6 and NetWare 5 servers. This 32-bit driver
is compliant with the HSM Specification 3.31.
This driver does not support promiscuous mode.
Installation
![]() ![]() ![]() To install the driver, use NetWare's INETCFG utility. View Novell's
on-line documentation.
Note: Novell recommends Netscape Communicator (not Microsoft Internet Explorer). For your
convenience, a copy of Novell's INETCFG documentation is
available; you will need Adobe Acrobat reader to view the document (PDF format, 58 KB). Buffer Configuration
Depending on your server's configuration, each channel requires approximately 50 Packet Receive Buffers. The
default and maximum number of Packet Receive Buffers can be configured using the NetWare Settable Parameters
'Minimum Packet Receive Buffers' and 'Maximum Packet Receive Buffers'.
The 'Minimum Packet Receive Buffers' parameter MUST be set in the STARTUP.NCF
configuration file. The maximum value can be modified At any time from the server
console prompt.
Additional Driver Parameter Keywords
This driver supports the new SLOT keyword as suggested by Novell.
This driver uses the actual physical slot numbers where your server's system ROM
BIOS supplies this information.
In systems with older ROM BIOS the MSM module will supply pseudo-slot numbers.
For multi-channel adapters (ZX346 and ZX348), each network channel will appear with a separate slot
number making the adapter appear as multiple single port adapters.
Do not use the CHANNEL or PORT keywords together with the SLOT keyword.
