New Revised Versions of the ZX470 and ZX4000 RTM:
- ZNYX Networks has modified the ZX470 series to use
both the J3 and J5 connectors to pass the Ethernet signals from the Front
to the Rear Transition Module (RTM). Previous versions of the ZX470 series
used only the J5 connector. This modification makes the RTM identical in
design to the RTM used by the new ZX4500 switch series.
- Don't mix new and old. Since the two versions use
a different pin layout, if the front module is a new version, the rear module
must be a new version. Likewise, if the front module is an old version,
the rear module must be an old version. Drivers for the old and new versions
are the same and the new board is functionally identical to the old version.
You may install both old and new versions side-by-side in the same CompactPCI chassis.
