ZNYX NETWORKS JOINS THE BROADSOFT XTENDED PARTNER ECOSYSTEM
The ZNYX B1 System enables the BroadWorks® Application Server to be deployed with a Unique Combination of a Networking Switch and High-end Compute Environment in a 1U Rack Mount System
FREMONT, Calif. – June 15, 2015 – ZNYX Networks®, an innovator of high-density NFV and SDN environments, today announced that ZNYX Networks, with its B1 system, has joined the BroadSoft® Xtended partner ecosystem as an Infrastructure Partner for Carrier Network Systems. This designation means the B1 system is compatible with the BroadWorks Application Server and associated functionality running in a Network Function Virtualization (NFV) environment.
The BroadWorks Application Server supports a range of solutions including UC-One, which brings together essential communications services, such as: instant messaging, presence, voice and video calling, and multi-party video collaboration. The technology is deployed by telecommunication providers around the world.
BroadSoft’s open platform strategy – the Xtended partner ecosystem – enables the interoperability and integration of Unified Communications services with devices, systems and third-party applications, enabling its service providers to customize and extend the value of their solutions.
“BroadSoft’s BroadWorks Application Server is designed to run on commercially available hardware. We’re pleased to add ZNYX to our Xtended ecosystem partner family,” said Joseph Harsch, Senior Director, Product Management, BroadSoft. “In 1U of rack space, the B1 is a network device that provides the compute power to run the BroadSoft suite of software products with performance that may be very attractive to our customers.”
The B1 is a unique combination of a 480 Gig Ethernet switch plus NFV compute platform in a 1U rack mount environment. The B1 provides 24 10Gig and 4 40Gig front ports, 80 Gig Ethernet connection between the compute and network switch environments, and a dual Intel Xeon environment with up to 24 cores and half a terabyte of memory. The B1 is twice the functional density, one-half the rack space, and about 2/3 the cost of the alternative two device solution of a top-of-rack switch and rack-mount server.
The B1 Networking environment can be configured as a standard IP protocol switch or as a SDN OpenFlow switch. The IP configuration option supports the standard protocols such as BGP and OSPF. The SDN OpenFlow configuration option supports 480 Gigabits of line-rate throughput via the Broadcom OF-DPA OpenFlow pipeline.
“The B1 system broadens the BroadSoft Xtended ecosystem with a unique platform that enables service providers to increase performance by using the embedded Ethernet provided in the networking environment. Communications between VMs running BroadSoft components are switched in hardware – a high throughput, low CPU utilization solution. This solves the problems created by the normal rack mount server strategy of switching packets between VMs via a software vSwitch, a process that creates high CPU overhead and delivers low throughput,” said Connie Austin, President and CEO, ZNYX Networks.
“Joining the BroadSoft Xtended ecosystem allows ZNYX to help deliver a cost-effective alternative for BroadSoft Unified Communications Services Providers. We believe service providers serving markets such as Latin America or government agencies, where the need for NFV and SDN is necessary, will find this product attractive,” said Vincente D’Ingianni, Sr. Director, Business Development at ZNYX Networks. “The B1 enables a BroadWorks-in-a-box solution for entry-level Service Provider opportunities.”
