ZNYX Releases Industry's First CompactPCI Carrier Class Fast Ethernet Adapter
NetBlaster Fast Ethernet Adapters Provide High Availability, Hot Swap, and Rear Panel I/O
FREMONT, CALIFORNIA, USA (Mar 2, 1999) - ZNYX Corporation, a pioneer in providing high availability networking solutions for Embedded and Telephony applications, today announced the release of its Carrier Class NetBlaster™ CompactPCI multi-channel Fast Ethernet adapter product family. The ZX470 series includes PICMG compliant Hot Swap circuitry, rear panel I/O, and a 64-bit bus interface. The board is designed for high availability telecommunication platforms that support data intensive applications such as Voice over IP (VoIP), community messaging, and other Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) platforms that are dependent on high availability LANs for continuous operation.
The NetBlaster ZX470 series is supported by ZNYX’s embedded RAINlink technology that provides support for redundancy with fast deterministic failover, system-to-system trunking, and system-to-switch trunking. ZNYX also provides a comprehensive driver suite that includes support for Windows NT, Solaris, VxWorks, pSOS+, LynxOS, UnixWare, QNX, and Linux. The ZX470 with RAINlink-enabled drivers allows for the construction of high availability LANs to interconnect CompactPCI systems in telephone company Central Offices.
"The ZX470 series extends the high availability equation to the LAN," said Tim Hayes, Product Marketing Manager at ZNYX Corporation. "Many of the Central Office applications use LANs to provide a service that must be continuously available. The ZX470 address these requirements with Hot Swap, Rear panel I/O, and RAINlink to provide deterministic failovers. Our goal is to execute failover sequences that are fast, deterministic, and completely transparent to end-users of Voice over IP and messaging services."
The ZX470 NetBlaster series is available in four (ZX474) or eight (ZX478) channel models. The ZX400 series of 6U x 80-millimeter passive rear transition modules are used to provide RJ-45 connections. Prices range from $2,199 to $2,699. Drivers are downloadable from ZNYX’s web site at http://www.znyx.com.
ZNYX Corporation, a privately held company headquartered in Fremont, California specializes in bringing continuous availability and improved performance to network systems, while preserving the existing network infrastructure.
