Immediate Release
ZNYX Demonstrates High Availability Solutions
New Hot Swap adapter and RAINlink failover software shown at Embedded Systems Conference
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA, USA (Nov 5, 1998) - ZNYX Corporation pushed forward its
CompactPCI high availability LAN solutions with demonstrations of CompactPCI Hot
Swap and RAINlink fast failover and port aggregation software.
Hot Swap Verification
At the CompactPCI Compatibility Workshop ZNYX tested a prototype Fast Ethernet
adapter with CompactPCI systems from Motorola, Force, and Ziatech. The prototype
adapters performed as expected, validating the design and compatibility with hot
swap backplanes and paving the way for production versions. ZNYX's CompactPCI
hotswap technology, fully compliant with PICMG 2.1 Hot Swap specifications, will
be incorporated in a future NetBlaster ZX440 Series adapter.
RAINlink for Solaris
Also tested at the workshop, a new release of ZNYX NetBlaster
drivers with embedded RAINlink software was tested with Sun Solaris-based
systems. This new driver supports active redundancy and features fast failover
and link aggregation. The aggregation function supports two modes of operation:
system-to-system trunking and system-to-switch trunking. This new version
of driver supports ZNYXs family of NetBlaster PCI and CompactPCI adapters.
It is available for Solaris version 2.6 (Intel and SPARC). The driver may
be downloaded from the driver page of ZNYXs website.

ZNYX also showcased the first production versions of a two-channel,
Fast Ethernet adapter for CompactPCI systems. The ZNYX NetBlaster ZX412 joins
the four-channel NetBlaster ZX414 as ZNYX's high availability adapters for
CompactPCI systems. These adapters are in volume production and include both
FCC Class B and CE certifications. This ZX410 series of adapters supports
a number of popular embedded computing environments including Windows NT,
Solaris, LynxOS, VxWorks, pSOS+ and QNX. All drivers are downloadable from
the ZNYX website.
