ZNYX Corporation Enters CompactPCI® Market With NetBlaster Fast Ethernet Multi-Channel Adapters
ZNYX Brings High Reliability and Performance to CompactPCI Embedded Systems
FREMONT, CALIFORNIA, USA (March 30, 1998) - ZNYX Corporation
today announced its entry into the CompactPCI market by introducing two additions
to its multi-channel NetBlaster product line. NetBlaster for CompactPCI consists
of a family of two and four-channel Fast Ethernet adapters, the ZX412 and ZX414,
respectively, designed to increase network bandwidth and redundancy in high-performance
CompactPCI embedded systems. ZNYX is now extending its expertise to address
comparable bottleneck and downtime issues in the CompactPCI market. CompactPCI
applications that demand reliability and high performance - such as telecommunications
- will significantly benefit from the NetBlasters independent multiple
Fast Ethernet channel capabilities. Factory floor, data acquisition, and medical
imaging environments represent additional application areas.
NetBlaster for CompactPCI supports 3U and 6U CompactPCI slots in two or four-channel
configurations. NetBlaster is CompactPCI version 2.1 compatible, operates in
both full and half-duplex mode, and provides auto-negotiation functionality
and link/activity LEDs. Drivers are available for a number of operating systems
including Windows NT® and UnixWare®.
"With NetBlaster for CompactPCI, customers can obtain redundancy, reliability,
extra bandwidth, and more network integration options," said Jim Langdal,
CompactPCI Systems Marketing, Motorola Computer Group. "Providing these
features to our customers is critical in CompactPCI applications; we are pleased
to have ZNYX as a partner in the CompactPCI market."
"By providing multiple Fast Ethernet channels independent of the CompactPCI
CPU card, ZNYX has enhanced LAN integration for embedded systems," asserts
Tim Hayes, Product Manager for CompactPCI at ZNYX Corporation. "NetBlaster
for CompactPCI is the first in a series of networking products for the embedded
marketplace. With our proven expertise in delivering high-performance network
reliability solutions combined with our commitment to standards-compliance on
issues such as Hot-Swap, we will continue to develop products aimed at alleviating
network downtime and solving bottleneck issues in both PCI and cPCI arenas."
Pricing and Availability
Evaluation units of the ZX412 and ZX414 will be available in April, 98,
with volume shipments beginning in June, 98; additional drivers such as
LynxOS and VXWorks will be introduced throughout the year. Pricing ranges from
$699 to $1299, depending on configuration.
